More Pictures of Last Months Travels
Okay, here are some pictures of yet more of my visit to Louisiana. Yes, I know - it's sort of pathetic that I'm still posting pics from a trip I took over a month ago. But I took close to 200 pictures, & I don't want to toot my own horn or anything, but so many of them are absolutely awesome pictures! I guess living with a photography major in college helped give me a better eye...(although there's still lots of room for improvements).
Anyways, these first pictures are from my tour of Oak Alley Plantation. It's one of the many plantation homes along River Road. The pictures I posted earlier from Evergreen Plantation (the one with the slave cabins & awesome double staircase on the front of the house), that one was on River Road too.
The second set of pictures is from my half a day trip to New Orleans. No, I didn't get to see too much of the hurricane damage. The French Quarter didn't get hit that hard & that's all we had to see. We did see some damage, but it seemed like small potatoes compared to the harder hit places. We did pass some FEMA trailers on the highway heading to New Orleans.
Enjoy!

Ruth these picutres are awesome! You'll have to share some of your photography secrets! ;)
Thanks! I don't know that I really have any secrets to give away...it's all in how you look at taking a picture. Cropping is a big thing (as my old roomie Becky taught me). Frame your focus point with the stuff that's around it. & try not to make you focus point the center of the picture.
I don't know...I don't really have a complecated method...I just have an eye for seeing great shots & trying to get them to come out as good as I think they can...digital is great for that b/c you get lots of chances to get 1 good shot!
that house is beautiful...that's the kind of house I want when I grow old and my grandchildren come to visit - so we can sleep on the upper porch under the summer sky :)
