Unexpected Surprise's!
I spent some time this morning looking for another part-time job over the internet. I found a few options that I'll be looking into. Nothing that I'm terribly excited about though. If I have too much trouble finding something, I found a help wanted add for the Beaner's Coffeehouse location that's about a mile or so from my apartment. Having already worked for Beaner's on 2 separate occasions (and left on great terms both times), I should be able to land a job there without a problem. It doesn't pay a whole lot, but I'd be saving money on gas & I wouldn't really need a whole lot of training... just some refreshing. So that's an option.
Then I went to work today with a poopy attitude. I just didn't want to go in. But once I got there, things started looking up. I got on the boat to cover lunches and low and behold about 15 minutes after I'm on the boat, we pass underneath a low bridge, I look up and who is standing there but Randy's Mom & Frank!
So they rode the next boat, on which I gave the interp. Randy's mom got lots of pictures (imagine that) so she was happy. We got to talking after the trip and they asked what time I got off, and they invited me to dinner. (Must have felt sorry for me because my boyfriend left me on my own for the weekend...just kidding). So once I got off work, we left for Napoleon for dinner. Had a nice dinner, good food, good conversation, a good time! So that was a nice surprise!
Then I came home and checked my mail. I was again surprised to find that I had a package waiting for me! It was a brand new backpack from the Sierra Club (Randy got me a gift membership for my birthday...tree huger that he knows I am!) A new backpack! Boy oh boy did I need one! I haven't had a new backpack since my Freshman year of college, and man is my old one worn out! And it's a pretty one too! Great size for a long day hike! It's awesome! May just motivate me to get back out on the trails more often than I have been since I've returned from California.
That's all for now. A Prairie Home Companion is on...god I miss this show...I don't listen to it as often as I used to. Think I'll write some letters for through the second half of the show. Then I think I'll spend the rest of the night curled up on the couch with a cup of tea and attempt to finish my book.

Very nice :) I love little surprises - speaking of which, I received your froggie card today and Ella has been carrying it all over the house, and now is fast asleep in her crib with it under her face --- so very cute, but we are minus a camera to catch the moment :( Jason took it to Sweden. Thanks!
No problem! She's gotta remember her Fun Aunt Ruth somehow.
oh oh oh...
Jannelle and i are big Prarie Home Companion fans. I especially liked Garrison's Rap about Kansas.
Dude! That was great! I liked it alot too!!! I've gotten out of the habit of listening to it on the weekends...I need to get back into it again.
